Kickoff Keynote: Margaret Atwood Talks with Kelly Link

Few authors have bridged the divide between speculative and so-called literary fiction as gracefully and capably as Booker Prize winner Margaret Atwood. From her early fiction such as The Handmaid’s Tale, through the MaddAddam trilogy and her more recent work with the Future Library project, Atwood has embarked on a imaginative, even visionary, exploration of what the future might hold—for better or for worse. Atwood’s latest work, The Heart Goes Last, imagines a chilling futuristic social experiment at odds with the emotional lives of its protagonists. Join Margaret Atwood and interviewer Kelly Link, a writer whose fiction also inhabits the intersections of fantasy and realism, for a conversation about the future in fiction and the future of fiction.

Tickets, to benefit the BBF, are $10. Or, become a BBF member at the Bibliophile level or above and receive a complimentary ticket to Atwood’s keynote as well as an exclusive “swag bag” just like the ones we give BBF presenters. You’ll pick yours up at BBF 2015 on October 24!
